PREMIUM MEMBERS of the Car Importers club, are those who are willing to back themselves and import their own vehicle, just as other car dealers do. There is the risk of extra costs associated with unexpected repairs due to unforeseen compliance costs, but in the vast majority of cases premium members will end up owning their dream car at a massive price advantage. To have access to this massive price advantage, PREMIUM MEMBERS use their own money to pay for their Japanese Import in the sequence the accounts come in. Once the vehicle is purchased at the auction in Japan, the Japanese Agent will send an account for payment which must be settled immediately. The vehicle will not be released or book on the ship until the vehicle is paid for. Once the vehicle is shipped and account will be issued by the shipping company. This account will also need to be paid for immediately. Other accounts that will need to be paid are Customs Agents (GST etc), road transport companies and anything else associated in the transportation of the vehicle from Japan to New Zealand.
Once in New Zealand, the vehicle will be sent to compliance for processing. With luck there will be few, or even no repairs required to allow the vehicle registered in New Zealand. On the other hand, there may be some repairs needed, we can advise the most cost effective way to deal with such repairs. Once the vehicle testing company is satisfied the vehicle complies to the NZ Standard, an MR2A is printed which is the document needed to have the vehicle registered into the new owners name. Happy days, the newly registered car can now be legally driven on New Zealand roads.
What do PREMIUM MEMBERS pay Car Importers Club for their services? Once the MR2A is issued, all costs associated with the importing of any vehicle are tallied up. A fee of 5% of the total cost of each vehicle is payable to the nominated bank account of the Car Importers Club executive, before the MR2A will be given to the importer to have their vehicle registered. That's it! People who have already taken advantage of PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP are truly delighted; fortunately none have had excessive repairs to deal with. At Car Importers Club this is our goal and in the vast majority of cases we achieve it.
GENERAL MEMBERS on the other hand, also have an advantage, but are "risk averse". For GENERAL MEMBERS, the risk is removed but the price advantage is less than that of PREMIUM MEMBERS. Those opting for the GENERAL MEMBERSHIP OPTION still have a big advantage over those buying from the local car yard.
Basically GENERAL MEMBERS will end up paying a wholesale price for their vehicle, which is still good reward for importing their vehicle with the help of the Car Importers Club.
